My question is that other than thermal (coal), hydro (water), aero (windmill), solar (sun) and atomic electric power generation, is there any possible way of generating the electricity from cosmic rays or cosmic radiations (not lightning power).

No, there is not enough energy that reached the surface of the earth from cosmic rays to generate significant amounts of electric power.

So i did some calculations, based off some numbers i found off the internet. My dad wants to replace his gas heat with electric, powered with solar energy.....i told him bad idea, but I attempted to estimate the cost....not sure if i'm doing it...

Let me assume he uses 100 therms/mo, you can change it as needed.

Though alternative technologies available, what matters is the feasibility of Projects. Still coal continues to be the cheapest source of Energy, it will remain so for another 50 yrs, unless some breakthru innovation happens.
