Make an economic and environmentally friendly oven for roasting poor little marshmallows. Create a solar-powered oven that uses light from the Sun ...
i need the range of tempretures i can get from my solar power oven so i can work out what insulation would be best for lining it with and also so i can calculate cooking times
btw this is for a school project
not sure but our class once tried it and we put the solar oven out for about 4 to 5 hours and the bread dough cooked and so did the tomato gravy and the rice and the temperature that day was about 30 degreees celsius

I don't know that 3rd world countries use anything that is solar powered. The solar panels are very expensive and people in advanced countries that use them for hot water, never recoup the money that they laid out to buy and install them. They are still

What kind of instrument/tool can I use to measure the amount of energy produced from a solar-powered oven/appliance? And what would the unit of measurement be? Volts? Watts?
(It's for my science fair project)
Your solar appliance is not producing energy. You can calculate the amount of energy you need to add to a liter of water to raise it one degree C. But a solar oven is not linear. That one degree of temperature rise is much easier to accomplish...
I DONT want websites , i want you to tell me how.
Thanks.
1. Get hold of a large cardboard box, a smaller cardboard box (one which allows at least an inch of dead space all around once it is inserted in the larger box) a Glad or equivalent oven bag, some aluminium foil, PVA glue and the steel plate with...
Hi,
I am doing a Solar Powered oven for my science project. For that i wanted to know how solar power works.
I know how it works, but only in detail, so I would like to know how it works but i want it to be basic.
To be brief and basic
Solar power works by capturing photons and converting them to a form of energy that can be used for another purpose.
There are 2 forms. Photovoltaic and thermal.

Bright idea: Schools unite to investigate solar
Inside local classrooms, the outlook can be dim.
State's financial troubles have cut school district budgets to the bone, forcing teacher layoffs and packed classes. And the cuts are expected to keep coming.
But outside, the future looks bright, with hope the sun will recoup some losses.
Eighteen districts have joined with the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office to discuss how solar power could benefit Kern campuses.
For years district officials have received project pitches from energy companies, but they've been skeptical. The goal now? To figure out -- as one -- the benefits, pitfalls and potential savings in solar energy.
"There's always hope they (solar panels) will save us tons of money," said Matt Torres, Fruitvale School District's chief business officer. "It's a big endeavor with so many different paths. We just want to make sure we know what we're getting ourselves into, if we get into it."

Solar power works by capturing photons and converting them to a form of energy that can be used for another purpose.
There are 2 forms. Photovoltaic and thermal.
Photovoltaic converts the photons into a flow of electrons (electricity). This happens when a photon liberates an electron from an atom by adding energy to the electron.
Thermal uses photons to heat a medium. This heat is then used to heat water, generate steam to turn a turbine, etc.
