    “It was just an idea a friend of mine from Iona had,” Henderson said. “He had asked me to help him put this backup power concept together. So I did. He and myself and a couple other fellows started the company called Backup Power Source.

    “We just started in a garage down in Iona with a little white box and four batteries. So we’re evolving and we’re working with two companies right now with small wind.”

    Backup Power Source sells alternative energy.

    “We’re an energy storage company,” Henderson explained. “We store energy in batteries and when people need electricity, it comes to them from the batteries through an inverter. We charge the batteries through the grid. Like in my office, if we lose power, it switches automatically in less than two milliseconds. When the power comes back on at the municipality, it automatically switches and charges the batteries and it sits there and waits.”
