Solar Laptop Charger

I want to find a reasonably priced Solar charger that will run my laptop and other small electronics. I have already looked at a few on amazon but do not know if they will run my laptop.

I know you can buy a solar charger for mp3 etc, but I would love one for my laptop. I mean there is wind-up radios, they have been around along time, someone has bound to have modified it for charging up laptops, any1 know any niffty little sites...

if you use a solar panel open circuit voltage 21volts like a 36 cell
solarmodul and min 3 amp current it must works! maybe a capitance like min 5000uF between +- is recommend that the voltage regulator in your note book start up! some laptops

A typical laptop needs 40 - 100W to run or charge the battery, a typical solar cell that makes 100W (in full sunshine - you're out of luck on a rainy day!) is almost 1 sqm (1m x 1m) big and costs about US$300.

Something like these solar backpacks may be your best bet. The smaller more portable devices don't seem to have enough power to charge a full size laptop. If you can mount it on your saddle bags then you can charge while you are riding.
