I have 2 solar panels from Canadian tire, about 12" by 36", plus an inverter [rated up to [?] 800 watts [?]. I have access to used automotive batteries. I want to use the solar panels to charge the 'decent' used batteries, then power things

I'm not actually sure ... generally it tends to be those in IT, finance and medicine that are successful with sponsorship, but then I'm in London so maybe it's just that arborists don't come here. :-) Also, I'm not sure why you think Wales looks...

April 10, 2010 – Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk
TELUS World of Science hosted Marcelo Da Luz and showacsed his solar-powered car on April 1 and 2. We are proud to partner with him on his upcoming journey. On April 10th, 2010 The Power of One (XOF1), solar car project will be taking on the greatest challenge on the planet for any electric vehicle – the longest ice road in the world, where man and machine will be pushed to their physical limits.
The Ice Challenge will take place on the seasonal ice road running between Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada, covering 180km (111 miles) over the frozen Mackenzie River and Arctic Ocean.
On July 27th 2008, XOF1 made history as the first solar car to reach the Arctic Circle under its own power. Using only sunshine as fuel, XOF1 continued across North America, breaking the world distance record for a solar car. On July 20th 2009, XOF1 re-wrote the history books when it crossed the Arctic Circle for a second time.
