Batteries are rated in units of Amp-hours.

A 12 Volt, 60 Watt panel makes 5 Amps of electricity, because Volts times Amps equals Watts.

So it depends on how many Amp-Hours capacity your battery has.

Assuming your bilge pump draws about 2.6 amps, I'd suggest using a solar panel with an output of 5 to 5.5 watts. (They're on sale here in Canada a few times a year for about $50)

These provide 0.3 amps/hour...

I doubt as I think that is too little ampherage to worry about overcharging the battery.

Hopefully it has a built in blocking diode to prevent draining the battery back through the panel at night.

A 50 Amp Hour battery can provide 1 amp for 50 hours or 2 amps for 25 hours or X amps for 50/X hours. So how many amps does a 12 volt battery have to provide to be providing 26 watts (2*13)?
