Where can I buy Crystalline Silicon or another substance that is great for Solar Cells?

I would like to learn more about creating Solar Cells, and start to create my own. However, I dont know where I could buy Silicon. Is there anywhere online that I can order it or an element near it that could be used as a substitute?
