Ever thought of buying a portable solar panel for your laptop?


Just read about this folding wobbly material looking bag that folds out to charge a laptop, well impressive if you have to travel around. Wonder if one of you is using one now and how good they are.


I have thought about it, one of the big problems that I have is the Internet connection.
however I do have a power inverter that i hook up to my car battery when the power goes off.

Portable chargers are usually pretty useless because they don't have enough output to do anything. You can count on getting about 2/3 the power they claim to put out. You'll nedd at least a 20 watt array to get even a slow charge.

    Apple has filed a number of patents for fuel cells that can be inserted into portable devices, such as laptops, without adding much weight.

    One patent application, titled Fuel Cell System to Power a Portable Computing Device, says that due to environmental and geopolitical concerns there is an “increasing awareness and desire” for consumers to use renewable energy sources.

    Fuel cells are interesting to Apple as they “can potentially achieve high volumetric and gravimetric energy densities” – or in layman’s terms, pack a lot of energy into a small space. A successful cell would potentially enable continued operation of portable electronic devices “for days or even weeks” without refueling, the patent reads.
