Could you let me know what is the advantage and disadvantage of 6v 12v 18v 24v and 48v battery bank system for solar. Which one is the best system to for domastic use please.

You are right , positive to positive then negative to negative keeps you on 12 volts. This is parallel connecting.
Use a wire diameter that is much the same as what you find on a car battery in a car.
