Solar battery AA for a rose design I have outside.?

I bought these roses that are staked in ground and they use solar AA batteries No. Ni-cd AA 600mAh 1.2v so they can glow in the dark. Cannot find them anywhere.


Wal-Mart has them in lawn and garden on the aisle with the solar lights, in a black and yellow package right beside the replacement bulbs for yard lights.

Set up a cheap solar system to run a few 12volt lights off of. Can I use AA solar charging batteries?

I am currently looking at solar lighting but want to stay cheap, very cheap. I found a little 5 watt solar panel and I want to use its' power for a few low wattage 12v DC lights. Can I rig this to a number of cheap solar charging AA batteries...


you would need 8 AA batteries, and hood them all together to run 12v lights, but I am sure that it could be done.
or you could pick up a good car battery and do it easier.
maybe one from the wreaking yard.

A typical rechargeable AA has a 3000 mA hour capacity.

If you can get the full 200 mA out of the panel (and I doubt that), then it would take 3000/200 or 15 hours.
