lets start with basics
the solar power supplies DC and it is running all morning, the power it supplies not as much as the wind turbine so the controller and the power it supplies mostly constant becasue the sun changes slowly

Dont know about the flashing light, if you tell us what make of controler you have we/you could find that in the users manual.
5 to 6 days to empty an unused battery means you have a dead battery, if the controller can do that in 5...
I am setting up a wind turbine system that only has a 400w wind turbine. I am going to make it a tie in and will not have a battery system to save power. Do i need a charge controller or is only having the power inverter enough

Do you mean grid tie?
Inverters work with a fixed DC voltage like 12 or 24 volts. The output of your generator will be varying with wind speed, so you need something in between to adjust the voltage driving the inverter.
i aim to charge a battery bank of 400ah,do i need a charge controller,it is a 1000watt hornet turbine.

You should certainly use a charge controller as the charge current is likely to be varying considerably, and you will need some mechanism that will reduce charging as the battery fills.

Instead, Glen hurd, a veteran of RE had a track proven, really cheap and easy to understand controller that I fell in love with. Beside, let’s not reinvent the wheel ! It only cost 15 bucks (check it out at ghurd.info and you get great technical support along. I used it and there it is; Working. Will keep you posted
hi! …just want to ask about my charge controller … when i power it up it goes hot is it normal for a charge controller to get hot? .. i disconnect it quickly not to damage it … im using a 1 amp fuse … it it possible that my controller still ok .. is the fuse guard my controller …it will be busted if the operation is not correct with out harming my controller
