Solar Charge Control

For a 10kVA solar system having charge controllers and solar modules and batteries, there are only 48V charge controllers rather than one of 180V. How do I configure these charge controllers to give me the desired control?

I'm assuming you have a bank of batteries in series to get 180 volts DC, with a bunch of solar arrays in series to charge them.

180 volts is high enough that you could get into breakdown problems, as well as shock hazard problems....

So my outdoor solar lights take AAA batteries and well so do my cable remotes. So technically couldn't I use my solar lights to charge my remote controls?

Actually you could, but it's too much hassle to bother. The rechargeable batteries don't hold a charge very long (a week or two at best maybe). The rechargeables also have a slightly lower voltage to start off with even when they are charged. So...

What you can do (it's easier) is to have a very small solar panel placed outside with a thin cable coming inside the house.
when the rechargeable batteries are empty just plug the cable coming from the solar panel into he remote control unit.

Man this is a far-fetched question.

Specific application I'm looking at is using a high thrust trolling motor on a small sailboat for the auxiliary propulsion. Research indicates this will work great. However, the various sites advise using solar/wind/ or shore power for recharging....

Here is the Biggest problem with the trolling motor generator...Its not with the motor but with the capture area of the prop...Lets do the math here real quick ...I promise not to take to long...If your trolling motor uses 10 amps at 12 volts...
