I whent to my friends house (here now) and i forgot the charger at home
i do not have a digital camera to charge it either

Basically, you can't.. just borrow you're friend's charging cable if there's is decently charged

because the amount of current that would need to go though your printer or computer to recharge the thing would make it blow up. it's not wired for it.

Yes that wire will work fine. The controller port number will flash (e.g player 1's controller light will make the first port flash). Yes, the PS3 needs to be switched on, not on standby.
