Charging Controller

When the controller is plugged into the ps3, the light will blink until charged so I know it is working. When I plug it into my laptop, the 4 lights blink for about 10 seconds then stop. Is the controller charging even though the light isnt...

if the 4 lights blink it ussally means that the controller is turning on or off.
in your case it turns off if the lights go out and staying on if 1 still stays on.
there must be a problem with the compatibility to your laptop.

Yeah if you have the warranty then your safe and sure you can call sony or email them!. But if the warranty is expired you could replace the battery. People make the mistake of either charging the controller for a long period of time or just leave it

Most of that 3rd party stuff is crap, it is not reliable and will break fast.

So to answer your question, it is not realible and will brake fast.

At the moment i have the ps3 controller connected to the console to charge it.
1. does the controller charge even when the console is on standby?

2. i have accessories such as a wall plug that can charge usb devices...

1) no the ps3 has to be on

2) yes ipod wall chargers, computer usb, this is how i charge my controllers so the will be ready when i turn my system on

Yea get the play and charge kit. It's 20 bucks. You put the battery pack (the one the comes with the kit it doesn't have batteries but IDK what to call it) and then plug in the cord to your controller and xbox.

Depending on what Play-and-Charge kit you're using (if you are using one at all), there should be a little red light on the top of the cord that plugs into the controller from the system. When this light turns green, your pack is fully charged.
