Charge controllers that are meant for Solar charging are significantly different to Battery Chargers meant to be used on AC. I suggest using an Automatic battery charger and adding a Solar charger controller at a later date.

I plan on buying a xbox 360 arcade and was wondering how would i charge the controllers? is there a play and charge already in there?how would it work?

The 360 arcade comes with 2 AA batteries. If you want to charge the controller, you'll have to buy the charge & play which comes with a rechargeable battery pack or you can get the quick charge kit which also comes with a rechargeable battery...

I never make a definite plan to play my PS3 for a set amount of time, but it would help to know since there doesn't seem to be any way to charge the controller except by plugging it into a PS3 that is on and not in standby.

ok so i had this play and charge kit for about several months now. recently my 360 controller got water damaged and none of my battery pack works on it. so i just plug only the wire onto my controller. it was working pretty good so far but one day...

You many want to try plugging your wire into a different slot, and not the one that burned your other cord.

Otherwise it would just be safer to go with a Wireless controller, even though buying batteries isn't the cheapest way..
