Can I Mix Solar Panels with Different Voltages?

I currently have a 12v deep cycle battery which is charged by a 18v/18w solar panel using a Sungaurd 4.5A charge controller. I also have a 24v panel (which has an actual voltage of around 26v in good sun). Can I connect the two panels in parallel?


I believe you need to use is a diode on the 18v. Maybe not if you dont get any other replies put a dollar diode in and hook it up.

If your voltage regulator supports 44+volts you could hook them in series.

On the output it can be changed, but not at the panel its self. You can use a convertor. There is an example of one in the link in my sources.
